2/15/18 “The Rock Wall” speaker – Larry Smith

The Jasper County Historical Foundation invites all members and the public to experience the Winter Historic Program, “The Rock Wall” on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

This topic of much interest is located in the south of Jasper Co.,
and has been the subject of intrigue for generations…what is its origin? How long has the wall been there? These and other questions will be explored by Larry Smith, American historian and local favorite storyteller who has been the speaker for several of the historic programs presented by JCHF.  With deep family roots in Jasper County, Mr. Smith has heard many stories of life and the interesting folklore, mysteries or tales of colorful characters that called this county their home.  While growing up in the community that bears his family name, Smithboro, Larry Smith developed a love for history that has lasted throughout his life. He has spoken on historical subjects in many well-known venues, such as The Old Georgia State Capitol in Milledgeville.

The program begins at 7:00 PM and is free to attend.     Refreshments will follow the program.
